Incredible intense flamenco dancer and coreographer, Joaquín Cortés is a whirlwind of energy whenever he hits the stage. Here, you see his musical play Caló. Joaquín has keep is gypsy roots proudly to create a unique style, some kind of fusion betwen classic flamento dance and modern coreographies.
For instance, in this play he executes the usual “zapateado”, a fast and furious foot dance with boots that resounds everywhere. A classic flamenco element. But he os accompanied by a chorus line of female dancers and a background of lights that brings new air to the stage.
One of my favourite photo sessions.
