Lightboxes are used commonly to cast a hard shadow on the model and produce high contrast images, with sharp edges and rought textures. I wanted to create exactly the opposite, a soft texture but without the use of Photoshop filters or digital tricks.
I made this picture set to apply a different lightning scheme, but still using big lateral softboxes. As you can see, the skin gets a pearl tone, a soft touch, but without loosing the extremely high detail any professional magazine will demand of you.
This technique is explored in my last book and will be fully explained in one of the Figure Photography technical issues.
This series is featured in my book Warm Nudes, Vol.1 and can be purchased as a full picture set of 50 pics of 8 MP here.
